12 DAYS 12 NIGHTS IN JERUSALEM

1994, Jerusalem Artists House

12 DAYS 12 NIGHTS IN JERUSALEM took place from 31 August to 11 September 1994, at the time of the high Jewish festivals: the New Year's Feast Rosh Ha-Shana, followed by Yamim Nora'im (The Horrible Days) - ten days of repentance and penitence - and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, on which the work process had already turned into an exhibition.

The visitors not only shared their ideas, but they also contributed objects to the experimental arrangements. Some of these objects later became part of the paintings.

Extensive coverage by the major newspapers of the country and numerous TV and radio broadcasts provided publicity resulting in a constant flow of visitors, which grew throughout the day and late into the night.

For every phase, a special score is composed. The music is played all of the project's 288 hours. For example, the music for Zurich was composed by the group "Yello" (Boris Blank, Dieter Meier), the music for Jerusalem and New York by Oliver Stummer.
