12 DAYS 12 NIGHTS 2006 IN VIENNA
A PERMANENT PUBLIC WORK PROCESS
2006, Galerie Tony Subal, Weihburggasse 11, Wien, Austria
After Vienna, Amsterdam, Cologne, Zurich, Jerusalem, and New York, Vienna 2006 is now the seventh phase of this project.
For each phase a special score has been composed. The music is played
all of the project’s 288 hours. For example, the music for Zurich was
composed by the group “Yello”, the music for Jerusalem, New York and
also for Vienna 2006 by Oliver Stummer.
The 12 DAYS
12 NIGHTS project took place in Vienna from March 1 to March 12, 2006.
After that, this Experimental Arrangement was exhibited at the place of
its origin until April 8, 2006.
The 12 DAYS 12
NIGHTS CAFÉ LOUNGE, operated by KLEINES CAFÉ and its Viennese
proprietor an actor Hanno Pöschl, was integrated in the Experimental
Arrangement.
More than 3000 visitors contributed to
the creation of the 12 paintings – by sharing their thoughts and
participating in the inspiring talks.
On the evening
of the 12th day Marc SCHEPS, curator of the Stiftung Ludwig and former
director of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and the Tel Aviv Art Museum,
spoke about the 12 paintings.
The TV station 3SAT produced a TV
documentation (made by Harald Wilde) of the creation of the 6th
painting and the Austrian TV station ORF reported on the project in its
newscast “Zeit im Bild”.
